Why crypto-first, in numbers that matter
A card-acquired casino on an offshore licence pays 8% to 12% to the few high-risk PSPs that will take it, holds a rolling reserve, and lives under Visa's VAMP fraud-and-dispute threshold, which fell to 1.5% on 1 April 2026 with an $8 fee per disputed transaction. A crypto casino pays network fees and a processor margin that is a fraction of that, has no chargebacks, and settles withdrawals in minutes. That is the whole economic case, and for grey-market and crypto-native audiences it is enough.
What the platform includes
- Cashier: BTC, ETH, LTC, USDT on TRC-20 and ERC-20, USDC and the networks your market uses; automatic address generation per player; withdrawal to the deposit wallet in the same asset by default, which is now a Curaçao rule and good practice everywhere.
- Wallet architecture: entity-owned hot and cold wallets with player balances segregated in the ledger, not in shared omnibus addresses; mixer and sanctioned-address screening on every inbound transaction through a blockchain-analytics provider.
- Provably fair originals: dice, crash, mines, plinko and limbo with the standard commitment scheme: the hashed server seed is shown before the round, combined with the player's client seed and a nonce through HMAC-SHA256 to produce the outcome, and the server seed is revealed afterwards so any player can verify any round.
- Studio games through the same aggregation as our fiat casinos, from the studios whose licence lists include your jurisdiction.
- Fiat on-ramp optional, through card-to-crypto partners, for players who do not hold coins.
- Travel Rule and KYC: tiered KYC with thresholds set per licence; VASP counterparty data exchange where your processor requires it. In the EU the Transfer of Funds Regulation applies with no minimum threshold since 30 December 2024.
Licences that work with it
| Licence | Crypto position | Cost and time |
|---|---|---|
| Anjouan | Explicitly covers crypto-enabled operations in the licence type | €17,828 a year; 2–8 weeks |
| Tobique | Accepts crypto; treats it as high-risk for due diligence; fees payable in BTC/ETH/stablecoins | ≈ €36,000 year one; 2–8 weeks |
| Curaçao (LOK) | Allowed under the standard B2C licence; June 2026 crypto policy phases in wallet segregation and analytics from September 2026, full compliance by mid-2027 | ≈ €52,000 year one; 5+ months |
| Tuvalu | Covered; privately administered regime, see the page | ≈ USD 17,000 a year; 3–4 weeks |
| Isle of Man | Deposits in convertible virtual currency allowed since 2017 with GSC controls | £36,750 a year; 10–12 weeks |
Finland prohibits crypto deposits outright and Cyprus permits electronic payments only; a crypto casino is not a product for either market.
What goes wrong in crypto builds we are asked to fix
Omnibus wallets with balances tracked in a spreadsheet. No screening, so a sanctioned address deposits and the processor freezes the whole hot wallet. Withdrawals to any address the player types, which the Curaçao policy now forbids and every AML auditor flags. "Provably fair" games where the server seed is never revealed. Each of these is cheaper to build than the right version and more expensive to own within a year.
Frequently asked
Do I need a VASP or MiCA licence?
If you custody players' crypto for EU residents, MiCA's crypto-asset service provider regime, fully applicable since 30 December 2024, is the question your lawyer must answer. Offshore casinos avoid it by not taking EU players; whether they succeed is a geo-blocking question. We do not sell MiCA authorisations and will not pretend the question is simple.
Which stablecoins?
USDT on TRC-20 dominates deposits in most grey markets because of fees; USDC for players coming from regulated exchanges. Support both and let the data decide.
Can players use a fiat card?
Through an on-ramp partner, yes, at the on-ramp's fee. It widens the audience but brings back the card-dispute exposure you left; most crypto casinos keep it as a minority channel.
